the future of ironlemon

Ironlemon was born in the pre myspace/facebook/twitter era, back when blogs had a bit more going for them. The new ironlemon of the future is going to be less focused on the blog part, although it will still be here.

I have lots of notes on what I want ironlemon to be, I just never work on it. It will happen though. Seriously.

news

I'm currently sitting in the Chicago Midway airport, waiting for a plane to Omaha. Between December 16th and January 1st I will have completed the following things:

- Moved from Phoenix to St. Louis
- Spent three days in Chicago for Christmas
- Record an entire album in Omaha (I'm playing bass on Simon Joyner's record)

I'm late for the last item on the list. I showed up an hour before my flight, which was scheduled at 9:35 am and proceeded to get into a very long line to check my bags. It was 10:50 when I finally got to the counter... a two and a half hour wait. Awesome. I was lucky and got a new flight at 3:00pm, which has since been delayed to 3:45.

All this extra time has resulted in me writing an ironlemon post. I guess that makes it worth it. Hopefully I'll keep it up. I've also added the dates for the upcoming Reubens Accomplice tour over on the left. Let me know if you will be in any of these cities on these dates.

some shows

I'm playing tonight (monday 11/10) with We Fear the Bees at the Trunk Space in downtown Phoenix.

I'm playing tomorrow night (tuesday 11/11) with Reubens Accomplice at the Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, opening up for Ben Folds.

I'm playing on saturday 11/29 with the "Loose Threads" which is the latest incarnation of the Threads at Yucca Tap Room in Tempe. Also playing is What Laura Says.

These are most likely the last shows I'll be playing in Arizona while I'm officially a resident. You should come out and say hi.

I'm moving

For those of you not yet in the know... I'm moving to St. Louis before the end of this year. Probably in December. Why St. Louis, you ask? In 1893 Nikola Tesla made the first public demonstration of radio communication there, and I would like to introduce the new form of communication that I've invented there as well. Don't ask what it is. I'm not telling.

... and I've gotten really lazy at updating the show calendar over on the left. It's sooo hard to lift my fingers up and push the right buttons

regarding things

I am alive, just quiet.

Lots of Reubens Accomplice recording has been happening.  It is going well.  We tracked Jon Rauhouse playing pedal steel and Hawaiian guitar last night, and a 16 piece orchestra last weekend.  Serious business.

I'm going to jam tonight with the remnants of The Threads.  Just a rehearsal.

Stewart from the Real Diffs and I have plans to rock together in the next few days or so.

See, I'm doing stuff I'm just not telling anyone.

I think I'm at the point where I need to redesign ironlemon in order to be excited about it again.  Hmmmm....

Algebra

I just did Algebra!  In real life, not in math class.  When was the last time you got to do Algebra?
