what the hell
I woke up at 5:15 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So... I decided to take a shower and walk to Harlow's for breakfast. Little did I know, Harlow's doesn't open until 7. What's the deal? Starbucks it is, I guess. Harlow's has lousy coffee anyway.
Here's what needs to exist right next to my house: a GOOD breakfast resaruant that is open EARLY. I have been to very few breakfast places that I would consider "good". Every breakfast place is just, well, just a breakfast place. Everything is the same. And I have only been to two breakfast places that have even slightly tolerable coffee.
Oh boy, waking up before 6 makes me quite grumpy. Good morning.(4) comments [+/-] show/hide the comments

i thought harlow's was closed altogether...not sure how i heard that. tempe needs a breakfast place big time, one like that place in flagstaff that has blueberry pancakes and oatmeal and wool socks and patchouli soaked baristas....maybe in january
What about Zendejas? Larry always wanted to eat at Fucking Zendejas on Broadway and Priest. Fucking Zendejas, he was a miserable bastard and a horrible hash slinger to boot.
You know, one of the better breakfast places I've been is right next to your old house, whiskeydick. That Orange place.
It's good alright. I wouldn't cross the road to give those fuckers a gallon of piss if there radiator needed a fill up.

last night
The drummer for The Threads didn't make it to the show at the Emerald Lounge last night, so I ended up playing drums. I think it worked out ok considering I had a total of zero rehearsals under my belt. It's fun making up drum parts live.
My presence on the drumset caused a few members of the crowd to start yelling for a return of The Secret Fox. They were very serious and earnest in their requests. I'm worried that there might be some riots if there isn't a Secret Fox show soon.(4) comments [+/-] show/hide the comments

Birds cried and a baby was born into the mouth of a LIGER. Where the hell were you and the Brit babes?
I found an old photo of SLP with me Iron Lemon, Whiskybitch, Mindy, Earl C. Whitehead amd Tommy Bernard. It is posted under Whiskeydick at my space photo bullshit. Come visit myspace so I can rack up points. Oh, I saw Dinosaur last week with Lou and Murph. It was a pretty rockin show. If you get a chance go see them. Pernice Bros. are playing at the Rhythm Room Aug. 2nd. Go out and say hi to My Niger, Peyton Pinkerton. He makes a mean Posole-

howdy
Things are a bit boring right now - the deadly heat of the summer stifles all productivity and creativity. Luckily some of you who have escaped the oven can still get shit done: Seth is finishing up the cover for the second Real Diffs Deluxe album, which will soon be available for sale on the ironlemon store in an official packaged form.
I wanted to do some recording this weekend for both Secret Life of Painters and the first release in the ironlemon 5-song series, but I for some reason agreed to lend the recording gear to Aaron Went so he can record The Format. Oh well. It's too hot to do anything anyway.
Still no shows on the show list for you. The next official Reubens Accomplice show isn't until the end of September, when we go to Europe for a few weeks. If I were to find out any official dates I would put those up, but I think it's too far in the future to really matter, so forget about it.
I've made steps in the creation of the super show database page which will list every show I've EVER played. I know everyone said that was a stupid idea; that's why I'm doing it.(3) comments [+/-] show/hide the comments

i went to the threads show looking for a guy in a robe and pointy hat, but you were disguised as that weird bass-player guy. it was creeping me out and i had to get out of there. so i missed your performance. i'm sure it was stellar, but you shouldn't be ashamed of who you really are.
I would have gone but I was busy writing songs about your demise.

swell
Sometimes things happen that lead one to believe that time is a liquid.

i think the real question is this: if you are standing on an object moving at the speed of light and you shoot a super soaker full of time liquid in front of you, is it moving faster than light in terms of net velocity? something to think about.

Nitrous oxide
Nitrous oxide, also known as dinitrogen oxide or dinitrogen monoxide, is a chemical compound with chemical formula N2O. Under room conditions it is a colourless non-flammable gas, with a pleasant slightly sweet odor. It is commonly known as laughing gas due to the exhilarating effects of inhaling it, and because it can cause spontaneous laughter in some users. It is used in surgery and dentistry for its anaesthetic and analgesic effects. Nitrous oxide is present in the atmosphere where it acts as a powerful greenhouse gas.
