yes

So... Reubens Accomplice is playing on the 23rd at the Rhythm Room, with John O. It's been a while since we played with the full rock lineup, you should go.

The show last Saturday was quite fun, thanks to everyone who went. I liked every band that played, and that's pretty unusual. Autorock was great and Chief Beef kicked ass.

Do you think that if the moon shone bright red instead of white that people would change the color of stopsigns and stoplights?

the Threads tomorrow night

The Threads are playing at Hollywood Alley tomorrow with Autorock and Chief Beef. You better go.

I think Reubens Accomplice might actually have a show coming up in Phoenix with the full band in February. It's been a long time since that last happened. I'll let you know when it's confirmed.

The new Aquanaut Drinks Coffee recordings are progressing forward, albeit slowly. Don't worry, they are coming.

There are many other upcoming recordings and collaborations on the map right now, it's kind of hard to keep track of all of them. I implore all of you to please have patience... good times are coming. Or they are already here. Probably both.

I would like to introduce a new blog for Real Diffs and the Deluxe fans:

A site dedicated to the brief history of Diffs is also underworks. Other exciting news includes the introduction of "The Chores," the latest extension of the Diffs family tree.

...later that night they found his corpse lying in a pool of urine and feces. The last words he ever spoke rolled of his tounge. "concrete, the world of concrete..."

The mushrooms are good . . . but they should wear off after five hours or so.

All I can say about this experience is cement....cyclopeon... reinforced ...brick..firebrick..clinker..
adobe.....It's not worth it, I hope it's not to late for you...

Are they battling?

Robosaurus could kick their plaster candy asses. remember, to get truly exceptional concrete add 1 part sand for every two fifths of fire water.

world of concrete - day ????

I think my reports and general coverage of the World of Concrete may be taking a sharp turn away from my traditional format. It seems that the I have been infected with some sort strange disease that numbs my mind and prevents me from remembering exactly what happens at the conference. It's hard to explain... It's as if I'm someone else while I'm there. I suspect mind control, but it's hard to come to terms with such things.

I'm going to try not to smoke today. I figure that should disrupt my system enough to allow me to regain some control, which in turn should allow me to get to the bottom of this diabolical scheme.

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. I will report back as soon as I understand what's happening.

I have to hide behind a table to avoid the lasers.

World of Concrete 2006 - Day 0

Today our team managed to infiltrate the conference center and establish a defensive position. There are some very strange structures and devices surrounding our stronghold, I will try to get some pictures tomorrow. I'm feeling especially worried about the giant laser machines directly opposite us.

I saw a man spinning a giant cube above his head this evening.

Concrete! Concrete! Concrete! I want concrete!

Keep phasers on 'stun' for now

See if you can learn a technique on secreting concrete out of my feet. That would be neat.

why is your aggregate so fucking course

World of Concrete 2006

I'm on my way to Las Vegas for The World of Concrete 2006. As many of you know, the World of Concrete is a very dangerous place - our team had to flee the event after only one day last year. I'm better prepared now, and I'm feeling confident that we can make into the abyss and back out again alive. Or at least sane.

I will be giving full uncensored reports of each day's events here on ironlemon. Check back often.

I know I say this every year. What the fuck is the world of concrete and do I need an invitation?

If your plan is to cover the entire world in concrete, I must strongly object. Fish can't breathe in concrete, and fish taste good. Again, I do not want you or your Las Vegas cohorts to cover the globe in concrete, unless of course I'm allowed to write my name in the concrete before it dries.

What do you call a blind deer?

No I dear.

What do you call a paralyzed blind deer?

Still No I dear.

What do a lobster and a chinaman being run over by a steamroller have in common?

They're both crushedasians.

This is a website for submitting jokes, right?

uh...

The term chinaman is offensive and dated. Are you a WWII survivor?

think everyone alive is a WWII survivor, although some of us had the extra benefit of being unborn at the time

Too true, but there is something nostalgic about hardcore 1950's racial slurs...And I'm a dirty little mick.

how do you kill a circus?

go for the juggler.

Q: How do you get Ryan to record bass lines for the new adc songs?

A: Stop distracting him with stupid jokes on his blog.

What do you have when you have one moth ball in your left hand and another in your right?

A very big moth.

it's still 2006

Time seems to be moving forward this year, which I believe is normal. So far so good.

Some semblance of Reubens Accomplice is playing with the Violent Femmes at the Marquee on January 29th.

The new Aquanaut Drinks Coffee tracks are coming. I'm actually the main person slacking right now, the tracks are only missing bass.

There has been discussion with all parties on the subject of recording some new Pine Wyatt material. I'll fill you in more as this develops.

The Threads LP is becoming very close to complete as well. I play drums and some other stuff on the recordings.

I've moved into an office. I am not working at home for the first time since 1999. That means less distractions and more time for me to write informative posts like this one.

Happy Birthday Dana!

Hey Dana, if I could give you the birthday birdie I would. A double bird even.

it is now 2006

It seems that the earth has managed to make it around the sun again, although it took a second longer than usual. There were quite a few spectacular events that transpired on earth during that last rotation, it's a lot to absorb. The extra second gives us some time to take a breath before diving back into the maelstrom of madness.

Speaking of madness, the World of Concrete is coming up in a couple of weeks. You should expect thorough but extremely biased coverage of the event. I'm thinking of writing from the point of view of a fly. Maybe I'm doing that already without noticing.

I left my bass at the studio that Reubens Accomplice is recording at, and that's making it difficult for me to record bass tracks for the new Aquanaut Drinks Coffee songs. I guess I should go it.

The Threads are playing at a party tonight with Shhhh... the Baby's Sleeping. Luckily I play guitar and keyboards in the band because I don't have my bass. I'm not allowed to invite the whole internet to the party, but you should call me if you want to go and I'll give you the address.
